  • 150 g butter
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 50 g dark brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 260 g all-purpose flour
  • 40 g cocoa powder
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 80 g powdered sugar
  • 50 g butter (room temperature)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ tsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and dark brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix well.
  3. In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually combine dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  4. Form dough into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet with space in between. Bake for 10 minutes or until set yet soft. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  5. For frosting, beat powdered sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth. Decorate cooled cookies to resemble mummies using frosting and candy eyes.
